A day on the river

What's better than a nice refreshment on a hot sunny day?  An itinerary out of the ordinary but much appreciated by river lovers especially in moments of great heat.

We offer you two interesting alternatives outside Pisa but not too far by car:

• The Candalla Waterfalls, Via Candalla 264, Camaiore (Lucca): The first waterfalls with a pool underneath (where it is possible to swim in summer) can be reached almost immediately but then for the subsequent ones the route becomes quite arduous, suitable only for expert walkers. On this path, continuing after the archaeological site, in about an hour you arrive at Casoli and from here, if you want, you can continue to Metato and return to Candalla in about 2 hours.

• The Pozze di Malbacco: The Malbacco waterfalls are located close to the Apuan Alps, near Seravezza (province of Lucca). A unique and spectacular place that is worth reaching to spend a day outdoors surrounded by nature. Considered among the most beautiful natural pools in Tuscany, the Malbacco di Seravezza waterfalls are the ideal place to spend pleasant moments away from the chaos.
